Below is an outline of what to expect in your first visit.

Extensive examination with oral cancer screening

"Outside the Mouth" examination

We conduct a systematic examination where we screen for cancer of the head and neck area. We make an assessment of the lymph nodes/ facial muscles/jaw joints/facial symmetry and lips.

"Inside the Mouth" examination

• Full screening of all soft tissues in the mouth
• We use Vizilite plus cancer detector were appropriate.
• Detailed assessment and charting of your gums
• Detailed assessment and charting of all your teeth
• Detailed assessment on how your teeth meet together (occlusion)
• X-rays if necessary

Diet analysis and preventative advice:

• Advice on caries prevention
• Advice on gum disease prevention
• Advice on acid erosion prevention
• Advice on abrasion and attrition prevention
• Prevention of dental trauma in high risk individuals
• Diet analysis and advice
• Cancer prevention and smoking cessation advice

Oral hygiene instructions / demonstration:

• Demonstration on effective bruising techniques
• Demonstration on effective flossing and interproximal cleaning advice
• Advice on safe mouthwash usage and topical Fluoride supplements

We exceed all health and safety guidelines and protocols
